Sustainable Lawn Replacement Program

Are you eligible?

Please review the following preliminary requirements:

  • You have authority to make changes to the property.
  • The project has not started. 
  • The lawn area is living or golden. It is not bare earth or weeds.
  • Projects part of or require a building permit are not eligible.
  • Artificial turf, a patio, deck or other hardscape will not be installed in the area.
  • You are not a recycled water customer.
  • This is a performance-based rebate program. Your project must result in a net reduction in total landscape water consumption.

What Comes Next?

This Eligibility Request form is not a guarantee of rebate funding.

City staff will contact you via phone or email to inform you if you are eligible or ineligible to progress to the Application Appointment.

Do not start any work or remove the lawn before your Application Appointment.

An Application Appointment is a site visit with City staff to explain the program, answer questions, measure the square footage of lawn, fill out an application and give notice to proceed with the project.

A Reimbursement Request is processed after the project is complete. The rebate applicant must submit 3-5 photographs of the  completed project and copy of application by the stated deadline.

The deadline is 120 days after the Application Appointment.
