Volunteer as a Tech Coach at the Santa Barbara Public Library!

Tech Coaches support adult patrons in a one-to-one setting to address an assortment of computer and mobile device questions and to learn basic computer functions. Examples include helping patrons learn how to create an email account, set up a new mobile device, and download and use apps.

Characteristics of successful Tech Coaches include the ability to create a learning environment that enables patrons to feel comfortable and confident in tackling technology barriers and to implement new digital literacy skills.

Tech Coaches are 18-years-old or older and volunteer one day a week in three-hour shifts that include scheduled appointment times as well as drop-in sessions at the Central Library or at the Eastside Branch Library.

Due to the time spent on training and onboarding, volunteers must be able to make a commitment of at least six months.
